Lighthouse Cruises for 2012
June 25th through June 28th of 2012

We have again teamed up with Terry Pepper of the Great Lakes Light Keepers Association to produce an itinerary which is sure to sell out fast. The Keweenaw Star will be headed back to the Keweenaw for this adventure which will begin in Sault Ste Marie. Day one will follow the coast of southern Lake Superior to the port of Marquette, MI. Day two will depart Marquette and make our way north past Stannard Rock, up and over the Keweenaw into port at Houghton, MI for the night. Day three will bring us back to Marquette passing the Huron Islands. Day four, depending on weather, we will attempt a trip to Caribou Island as we make our way back to our vehicles in Sault Ste Marie. This is a chance to see more than 20 lights with some being the most remote lighthouses in the Great Lakes. Information and cost of this trip will be available shortly from the gllka website. Reservations will be handled by GLLKA.

Back by popular demand is the Lighthouse and Boatnerd cruise to the Soo. We had such an overwhelming response to this cruise that we almost did it twice last year. We have teamed up with the good people at boatnerd.com to produce the mother of all freighter chasing cruises. Day one will depart Charlevoix and head to Sault Ste Marie. Along the way we will be in the congested waters of Gray's Reef, Straights of Mackinac, Round Island Passage, as well as the lower half to the St Mary's River. Day two will take us upbound through the locks to Lake Superior as we will head up the Lighthouse at Ile Parisienne where we will turn around and make our way back the Soo for the night. Day three will take us back to Charlevoix which will include passage through the famed Rock Cut in the lower St Mary's River. This cruise is a blast and you get a chance to meet some really great people along the way. This is an all inclusive package which will include all meals, hotels, casino packages, and transfers to and from the boat. Price is $500 per person double occupancy and $550 for single occupancy.
